The Golden Call changes everything. It is no longer only about passing recruitment; now you need to understand the move, training and first flights.

After the Golden Call, Emirates organises the journey to Dubai, arrival support, accommodation and the start of cabin crew training at Emirates Aviation College.

Quick answer: what happens after Emirates selects you?

  • You complete joining formalities, upload documents and answer recruiter requests quickly.
  • Emirates prepares entry paperwork, your ticket to Dubai and accommodation details before joining.
  • After arrival, you go through cabin crew training at Emirates Aviation College: about two months of daily school-style learning, exams and practical drills.

Golden Call and joining formalities in progress

After a successful Assessment Centre and Final Interview, selected candidates receive the Golden Call and move into the status of "joining formalities in progress". This stage is exciting, but it also requires discipline because Emirates asks for documents, references, medical checks and personal details before giving you a joining date.

Answer emails quickly, keep passport details ready and follow every instruction carefully. The airline needs to prepare your legal entry, accommodation, training schedule and first travel arrangements before you fly to Dubai.

Moving to Dubai with Emirates

The move is carefully organised by Emirates. Before departure, every candidate receives travel information, including an Emirates flight ticket, temporary immigration documents for entry and your accommodation address. The entire process is designed so you can focus on preparing for your journey and have an easy transition into your new life in Dubai.

For many candidates, this is the biggest life change of their lifetime. Dubai becomes your new home, with new friends, a new career and a new lifestyle.

Arrival at Dubai International Airport

New Emirates cabin crew are taken care of immediately after landing. Airport staff guide new joiners through the immigration steps, help with baggage and lead them to the Emirates representatives. Emirates staff then collect the candidate's documents, give them a new SIM card with their Dubai phone number and assign transport to their accommodation.

This first night can feel unreal: a new city, a new phone number, a new address and new colleagues. Very soon, you will start your cabin crew training and life will take a new path.

Accommodation and transport in Dubai

Emirates accommodation is one of the strongest reasons candidates choose the airline. Crew housing is usually shared, furnished and connected with company transport. The building, room and flatmates are assigned by the airline, so flexibility matters.

Transport to the training facilities and flights is organised around the Emirates cabin crew accommodation network. It feels like a city inside a city, with bus routes circling between crew accommodations, the training centre and the airport. You will learn the rhythm of crew buses, report times, headquarters and pre-flight briefings.

Emirates cabin crew training

The Emirates cabin crew training is intensive and feels like going back to school. Your two-month training is divided into weeks, each focused on different topics. You will learn safety procedures, medical instructions, aircraft equipment and emergency drills. After the theoretical part, you move into the practical side: uniform and grooming, service sequence, Emirates operations and flight expectations.

Everything is in English. There are theory checks, practical exams and many moments where discipline, punctuality and elegant presentation matter.

First Emirates flights

After completing cabin crew training at Emirates Aviation College, every new cabin crew member is scheduled for their first "supernumerary" flights. This means they are an additional crew member on board and work under the supervision of a line checker. During these first flights, called "sectors" in aviation language, you perform practical onboard duties according to the procedures learned during training. It can feel intense because it is the real onboarding stage for new Emirates cabin crew. You will understand the full flow in real terms: Emirates headquarters, the airport, briefing rooms, aircraft transport, crew positions, onboard service flow and the real aircraft environment in action.

Your first flight may be a long-haul route like Dubai to London with a layover, or a shorter flight like Dubai to Istanbul with an immediate return and no layover, called a turnaround. After these first flights, you begin working as part of the fully licensed and trained operating crew, with full responsibility for passengers and service.

Roster, layovers and seeing the world

Your roster is your flight schedule. Every month, you receive the roster for the following month in your crew portal and in the Emirates cabin crew app. You can see your days off in Dubai, your turnaround flights and your long-haul flights with layovers. For many crew, roster day is the most exciting day of the month.

Layovers are one of the most attractive perks of the job. After the flight, you arrive at a hotel booked by Emirates at your destination. You usually have around 24-36 hours before your flight back. You can use this time to rest at the hotel, visit the city, meet other cabin crew or simply sleep and relax before the return flight. At this point, the dream is real, and you are free to enjoy it.

Life in Dubai as Emirates cabin crew
